Volunteers & Supporters
Some of the ways that you can help include being involved in:
- NDA have been using volunteers since the formation of the Norfolk Hearing Support Service NHSS in 1991. Most of our volunteers for the project are drawn from hearing aid users, as whom better to help newly acquired hearing aid users obtain the most benefit from their aids, but from another hearing aid user. The service is well established around Norfolk. Training is provided.
- Befriending is a way to reduce the isolation that many Deaf people have to live with. It is also a way that BSL 2 students can practise their skills in a useful way if matched with the appropriate person. Training is provided.
- From time to time help is needed in the office, handy if you have administrative skills.
- Fundraising covers a variety of events. Ranging from Supermarket and other venue collections as and when the opportunities arise. Help with organising and promoting draws. Help in organising one off events including fayres, stalls. We welcome unused and or unwanted gifts and items that we can put to good use.
