To volunteer your support and become a friend of the NDA please.
Free Drop-in Clinics are also run throughout the county. Most clinics are run on a monthly basis and enable hearing aid users to drop in to have their hearing aids maintained or for batteries.

Have you found your hearing aid more difficult than you imagined?
Is fitting the mould in your ear a problem?
Did you find it hard to remember the instructions given at the hospital?
It takes time to adjust to wearing a hearing aid and some people take longer than others to get used to them. Others may find it difficult to get out and about to access help or do not know where to go for assistance. So... the hearing aid often ends up in a drawer! If this description fits you, read on.
Norfolk Hearing Support Service (NHSS) started life in 1993, operating under the umbrella of Norfolk Deaf Association, and enjoys the full support of Audiology, ENT and Social Services Departments, maintaining constant communication with them.
The NHSS has a team of volunteers trained to offer advice and support to hearing aid users in Norfolk.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a new hearing aid user, or have had a hearing aid for a number of years. Many of the volunteers are hearing aid users themselves and are trained to carry out simple maintenance on NHS hearing aids. They will give advice and help you fit the hearing aid correctly as well as replace tubing and dispense batteries.
The volunteers visit people in their own homes and also make visits to Residential Homes and Sheltered Housing.
If you feel the NHSS can help you, or to volunteer a little of your time please email nhss@norfolkdeaf.org.uk or telephone 01603 404440.
